Storms, Flooding In Eastern PA Forecast: See Timeline

SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — Temperatures in Southeastern Pennsylvania will be dropping after a hot week, but forecasters are calling for thunderstorms and a few inches of rain.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday is slated to start off partly sunny, with highs near 86. Thunderstorms are expected to hit the region at about 3 p.m., and overnight chances of rain and thunderstorms will persist. Overnight lows will be around 67.

Thursday has more chances of rain and thunderstorms with highs around 86 again. Then Thursday night, forecasters are calling for showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., with chances of showers throughout the night. Lows will be around 65.

The National Weather Service said some storms could bring damaging winds and hail to parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania Thursday.

"The time window looks to be from about 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.," forecasters said. "There is also some risk for localized flash flooding, mainly for the I-95 urban corridor."

The weekend is anticipated to be rain-free, with Friday, Saturday and Sunday promising mostly sunny skies and about 80-degree highs, according to the current forecast.

Wednesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. High near 86. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday night: Showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then a chance of showers. Low around 65. South wind around 5 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.
