Here are the top stories in Philadelphia today:
- On April 11, Rachel King was gunned down while she waited in the drive-thru line at a Cheltenham Dunkin' Donuts. Her 11 year-old son Jalen was in the SUV with her and police say it was a targeted attack. A week after her death, the family of the popular school teacher at Grover Cleveland Mastery Charter School wants swift justice, but a suspect has not been arrested. (The Philadelphia Inquirer)
- As Philadelphia Police struggled with a suspect, the man accidentally shot himself with his own gun. Police answered a 911 call to the Germantown section of the city and found a man armed with a gun and two dogs shot. As police chased him on foot, his gun discharged in the scuffle, and he was shot in the leg. Reports are unclear who fired the gunshot. ( 6abc Philadelphia)
- Did you by any chance purchase a CASH 5 lotto ticket over the weekend? If so, you might be $2 million bucks richer! Check those tickets! On Sunday, April 16, the winning ticket matched all five balls drawn, 3-9-10-18-25 and it was sold at Fishtown Market on 2328 East Norris Street. Hey, if you win $253 million more, you'll be as rich as Eagles QB Jalen Hurts! (PHL17.com)
