Teen Hurt In Double Shooting Monday Morning: Philadelphia Police

The teen boy was shot in the cheek and the bullet exited out of the back of his head. He is in critical condition, according to police.

PHILADELPHIA – A teenager and an adult are recovering after being hurt in a double shooting early Monday morning in North Philadelphia, police said.

Police said a 25-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy were both shot at about 12:23 a.m. Monday on the 3100 block of North Park Avenue.

The 25-year-old man was dropped off Wishart and Park avenues when he saw the teen ride up on a bike, police said.

Police said the adult then heard several gunshots and realized he was hit by the gunfire then fell to the ground.

According to police the adult victim saw a black man standing underneath a tree wearing all black clothing, who ran towards Allegheny Avenue.

The teen was lying on the ground, unresponsive, police said.

Police rushed the adult to Temple University Hospital for treatment of eight gunshot wounds to his legs. He is in stable condition, police said.

The teen is in critical condition at St. Christopher Hospital after suffering a single gunshot wound to his right cheek, which exited out the back of his head, police said.

Police described the suspect as a black man with a medium build, short black hair, who was wearing a white shirt and purple pants.

The East Detective Division is investigating the shooting.

Police are planning to release further details on the shooting later Monday.
