Teens Fatally Beat, Rob Man Sunday In Northeast Philadelphia

The victim was found unconscious and bleeding in the street with his pockets turned inside out.

PHILADELPHIA – A 57-year-old man was beaten, robbed, and left for dead by a group of teens Sunday evening in Northeast Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit is searching for the suspects.

According to police, the victim, Kevin Cullen of the 2600 block of Southampton Road, was attacked by a group of teens at about 5:55 p.m. on the 4200 block of Loring Street Sunday, Nov. 26.

When officers arrived, they found Cullen lying on the ground unconscious and bleeding with his pockets turned inside out.

Cullen was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital where he died at 6:25 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, police said.

Police learned the suspects were teenagers wearing dark clothing. One was wearing a grey camouflage jacket, police said.

6ABC reports a group of teens were seen on security footage following the victim Sunday night.

Two teens were taken into custody about half a mile from the scene of the crime, NBC10 reports. However police said no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Police said the motive of the attack was robbery.
