Trailer Carrying $750K Worth Of Dimes In Philly Broken Into: Police

Police are investigating after a trailer carrying hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of dimes was broken into sometime overnight.

PHILADELPHIA — A trailer hauling hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of dimes was broken into in Northeast Philadelphia, according to police.

Police said the unmarked trailer was carrying about $750,000 in dimes and was parked in a Walmart parking lot on the 4300 block of Byberry Road.

The trailer was broken into sometime overnight, and the burglary was discovered at about 6 a.m. Thursday.

According to Action News, police estimate $100,000 worth of dimes were taken from the trailer.

Dimes were strewn across the parking lot to Woodhaven Road, too, police said.
