Tyson Closing Philly Plants, 200-Plus Workers Being Laid Off
More than 200 workers are being laid off at two Tyson Foods chicken processing plants in Philadelphia due to closures.
PHILADELPHIA — More than 200 workers at Tyson plants in Philadelphia are being laid off due to the closure of two plants.
According to a WARN notice filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, Tyson plants at 4001 North American St. and 520 East Huntington Park Ave. are closing.
At the North American Street plant, 110 people are being laid off.

These layoffs are effective Jan. 31, 2025, according to the notice.
