Usher Joins 2023 Roots Picnic, Big Name Dropped From Lineup

The R&B superstar will be performing at this year's festival, and one notable name was dropped due to "unforeseen circumstances​."

PHILADELPHIA — A lineup change has his the 2023 Roots Picnic in Philadelphia.

R&B superstar Usher has been added to this year's festival lineup.

And, one big name has been removed from the lineup.

Diddy — formerly known as Puff Daddy and P. Diddy — is no longer set to perform this year.

Organizers said he will not perform due to "unforeseen circumstances."

The addition of Usher is fitting, giving the festival's focus on 90s and 2000s culture.

He will join headliners Ms. Lauryn Hill and Philly’s own Lil Uzi Vert.

This year's festival will take place Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4 at The Mann, with it all kicking off June 2 at the Wells Fargo Center with a standup comedy show by Dave Chappelle and music from The Roots.

Other big names on the bill are Busta Rhymes, Eve, Roy Ayers, and The Isley Brothers.

Back at the Mann Center, the live podcast stage will host Charlamagne Tha God, Questlove Supreme, and Off The Record with DJ Akademiks.
