Video Game Arena Coming To South Philadelphia
Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, and Wells Fargo Center are getting a new neighbor with the future Fusion Arena e-sports venue.

PHILADELPHIA — South Philadelphia is getting a new sports venue, but this one is a bit different from what traditional sports fans are used to.
Comcast Spectator is planning to build a $50 million e-sports arena right in the heart of Philly's sports epicenter next to Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, and Wells Fargo Center.
The 3,500-seat arena is planning to open in early 2021 next to Xfinity Live!

The arena, according to Comcast Spectator, will be the first-of-its-kind venue and the largest new-construction, purpose-built esports arena in the Western Hemisphere.
Philadelphia Fusion, the city's own e-sports team which competes in the Overwatch league, will call the arena home.

Per Action News, the arena will be 6,000 square feet and feature 2,000 square feet of interactive media surface 30 feet off the floor, two balcony bars, club seats with USB ports, flexible loge boxes exclusive suites, a dedicated training facility, broadcast studio and team office.
