Vietnam War Memorial Candlelight Ceremony

Thirty years ago, Philadelphia Veterans of the Vietnam War dedicated a memorial at Penn’s Landing. It’s a wall inscribed with the names of the young soldiers lost. On Friday, October 27 at 6pm, they’ll gather again, to remember a journey that brought them to what’s become sacred ground.

The event is sponsored by the American Legion Juniata Park Memorial Post #738. It will include a candlelight ceremony of the reading of the 648 names inscribed on the memorial.

Aidan Peterson, an 11-year-old special guest will provide a musical tribute including the National Anthem and Taps. Peterson is a Primavera Fund Artist and the youngest member of Bugles Across America. In 2016 he was awarded a commendation from President Obama for his over 250 hours of service to our Nation’s veterans.
