PHILADELPHIA — The Valentine's Day/Presidents Day weekend in Philadelphia was rather violent, with police reporting numerous shootings, some fatal, and a hit-and-run that left a young boy hurt.
Below is a breakdown of the weekend's incidents:
Friday

At about 4:07 p.m., a shooting occurred on the highway in the unit block of West Manheim Street in the 39th District. An adult male was shot twice in the back. Police transported the victim to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where his condition is unknown at this time. There is no known motive, and no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.
The following information is preliminary and subject to change; updates will be provided as they become available. At about 5:40 p.m., a shooting occurred on the highway in the 5700 block of Ardleigh Street in the 14th District. A juvenile male was shot in the leg and was transported by police to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.

Saturday
At about 1:59 a.m., officers from the 19th District responded to a report of a shooting on the highway near 5400 Wyalusing Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a 45-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the neck and one gunshot wound to the back. The victim was transported by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at 2:33 a.m. There is no motive or arrest at this time, and the investigation is ongoing with the Homicide Unit.
At about 1:19 a.m., a female victim was stabbed near North 12th Street and Brown Street. She was transported to Jefferson Center City Hospital, and her condition is unknown at this time. The investigation is ongoing with the Central Detective Division.
At about 9:43 a.m., an adult male sustained a graze wound to the head inside a private residence on the 1900 block of Auth Street. The victim was transported by medic to Temple Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.
At about 12:22 p.m., a 9-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the 800 block of South 56th Street. The child sustained various injuries and was transported to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he is listed in stable condition. The striking vehicle is a burgundy 2010–13 Honda Crosstour with mismatched panels. The vehicle also had a bicycle rack on the roof. It is pictured above. The driver is described as a Black male, about 25 to 35 years old, with short hair and a beard. The driver and vehicle fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing with the Crash Investigation Division.
At about 6:43 p.m., officers from the 17th District responded to a shooting that occurred outside in the 3200 block of Wharton Street. A juvenile male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the ankle and was transported by medics to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made and no motive has been determined. The investigation is ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.
On Saturday, at about 7:59 p.m., officers from the 22nd District responded to a shooting that occurred on the highway in the 1500 block of West Boston Street. An adult male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported by police to Temple Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 8:21 p.m. At this time, no arrests have been made and no motive has been identified. The investigation remains ongoing and is being handled by the Homicide Unit.
At about 11:54 p.m., officers from the 25th District responded to a radio call reporting a male shot in the left hand near the intersection of 8th and Venango streets. Medics transported the 43-year-old male victim to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The victim reported that he was walking when he heard several gunshots and then realized he had been struck in the hand. Officers located a blood scene in front of the victim’s residence in the 600 block of West Venango Street. The motive remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.
Sunday
At about 12:48 a.m., officers from the 1st District responded to a report of a male shot on the highway in the 1800 block of South 18th Street. Officers located a 43-year-old male victim who was uncooperative at the scene. The victim was transported by police to Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound and is listed in stable condition. The motive is unknown, and no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.
At about 9:29 a.m., officers from the 12th District responded to a report of a double shooting on the highway in the 1200 block of South 53rd Street. Two adult male victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were transported in private vehicles to HUP Cedar. One victim is listed in stable condition, while the second victim remains in critical condition. The scene was held for investigation. At this time, no motive has been determined, and no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.
