PHILADELPHIA — Vice President Kamala Harris will be meeting with union and labor leaders Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Harris will be joined by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh. Walsh has met Harris on numerous other stops on her labor tour, including Pittsburgh, in recent weeks and months.

According to Kenney's office, the Vice President will "discuss the administration’s investment in and support of America’s workers, provide updates on new initiative to protect workers from workplace hazards, and to meet with local labor leaders."

The Local 19 just hosted the Democratic frontrunner for governor, Josh Shapiro, on Monday. The group praised Shapiro, a strong President Biden supporter, in a social media post after the event.

"He took the time to thank the membership for all their hard work and the steps he would take as Governor to not just play defense against anti union forces," the group shared. "But to have an offensive strategy to help more people gain union membership and access to their own American dream."

Harris will also tout the Biden Administration's White House Labor Task Force and new Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies in its effort to boost blue collar support, according to Action News.
