Watermark at Logan Square Residents Earn PHS Award

Retirement Community residents earn Garden of Distinction Award in 2018 Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Gardening and Greening Contest.

[PHILADELPHIA] – A small group of residents at The Watermark at Logan Square have transformed a 4th floor terrace in the middle of Center City into a vibrant green space. Their efforts have earned them the Garden of Distinction Award in the 2018 Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Gardening and Greening Contest. They topped more than 300 entrants.

The PHS noted the success of the community’s Garden Club to enhance an urban environment. In fact, more than 430 residents who call The Watermark at Logan Square home have access to the terrace for activities and social gatherings. They are drawn to it as a meeting space because of its beauty and reflection of the seasons, with its changing flowers and greenery at the hands of the Garden Club.

Spencer Anderson, president of The Watermark at Logan Square Garden Club, accepted the Garden of Distinction Award at a reception hosted at PHS on Nov. 7. He received a sign to place in The Watermark at Logan Square garden and tickets to the 2018 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show, “Flower Power.”
