Wawa Foundation Hero Award Nominations Now Open
The winning nonprofit group will earn a $50,000 grant and the runners up will each win $10,000 grants.

PHILADELPHIA — Nominations are open now for Wawa's fourth annual Hero Award and the winning group will be $50,000 better off.
The Wawa Foundation Hero Award honors a non-profit organization that is committed to serving the Philadelphia area by assisting others and building stronger communities through preserving our independence, protecting our safety and educating and inspiring our youth.
Nominations are open now through April 29.

Members of the community will be able to vote on the four most compelling submissions from May 16 through Jun 17.
The award will once again be presented during the Independence Day, July 4, morning ceremony at the 2019 Wawa Welcome America Festival.

The organization receiving the highest number of votes will be submitted to the Hero Award Panel for confirmation.
A $50,000 grant will be presented to the winning group and the runners up will each get $10,000 grants.
To submit, qualified non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations can share a story or video about their impact on the Philadelphia community, including mission, purpose and services, through The Wawa Foundation website.
Previous Hero Award winners are not eligible for a period of ten years from the year they won, and previous Hero Award runners up are not eligible for a period of five years from the year they were recognized.
