Wells Fargo Dropping Name From Sixers, Flyers South Philly Home
The financial institution confirmed that it will not renew its naming rights for the South Philadelphia basketball and hockey arena.

PHILADELPHIA — The Sixers and the Flyers won't be playing home games at the Wells Fargo Center in the near future. And that's not because the teams are planning to move, although New Jersey wants the Sixers to relocate across the river.
It's because Wells Fargo itself has decided not to renew its naming rights for the South Philadelphia arena.
"Wells Fargo regularly reviews and adjusts our overall sponsorship strategy," a statement from the financial giant reads. "As such, we have made the business decision not to renew the naming rights contract to Wells Fargo Center."

The naming contract expires in August 2025, meaning the Sixers and Flyers will play their 2025-26 season home games in the same arena, but with a new name. Villanova University basketball and the Philadelphia Wings National Lacrosse League team also call the arena home.
Comcast Spectator owns the facility, which also plays home to major touring acts.

"We are grateful for our long-standing relationship with Wells Fargo and look forward to working with a new partner as we continue to bring the best sports and entertainment experience to fans in the Philadelphia region," a statement from Comcast Spectator reads.
Since it opened in 1996, the arena has been named the CoreStates Center, the First Union Center, and the Wachovia Center.
It has been the Wells Fargo Center since 2010.
