Woman Sexually Assaulted At Center City SEPTA Station, Man Sought

Police said the man seen here is sought in connection with a sexual assault that occurred 15th Street Station on Market in Center City.

PHILADELPHIA — Police in Philadelphia are asking for help finding a man wanted in connection with a Center City sexual assault.

According to police, officers were called to 19th and Market streets to meet a 20-year-old woman who was assaulted.

Police said the victim told them that after she got out of an eastbound SEPTA trolley, she was walking up steps to exit the SEPTA station when an unknown male sexually assaulted her.

The suspect was then last seen walking east on Market Street from 19th Street.

Additionally, SEPTA Police investigated a similar assault that occurred at 1401 JFK West Plaza on Aug. 3.

The suspect was wearing the same hooded sweatshirt and had followed a 17-year-old-female victim to a trolley stop.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his 40s, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall with a thin build, dark complexion, beard, black and gray Afro hairstyle, wearing a tan "NASA" hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
