Young Philadelphia Actor Performs in 'Shrek The Musical'
Aanand Shah makes his Mainstage debut at the Walnut Street Theatre in "Shrek The Musical"

Aanand Shah is going green for the holidays as a member of the children's ensemble for Shrek the Musical - playing now through January 5.
Based on the DreamWorks film, Shrek The Musical is the story of a reclusive ogre who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess. Complete with new songs and an outrageous cast of fairytale characters, this hilarious musical is entertainment for children and adults alike.
Aanand Shah is a 7th grade student at Masterman School in Philadelphia. Although Aanand has performed at the Walnut twice before, Shrek the Musical marks his mainstage debut. Previously, Aanand has appeared in the WST for Kids series as the Turkey Boy in A Christmas Carol and as Jetsam in The Little Mermaid Jr. Aanand’s name is of Indian origin and means “happiness.” Outside of theatre, Aanand is involved in National Junior Honor Society and has played piano at Carnegie Hall.
