Zahav Opens Walk-In Only Patio For Á La Carte Dining, Drinks

The always-booked up Israeli restaurant has opened a new covered patio that will make trying the sought after cuisine a bit easier.

PHILADELPHIA — Zahav is one of Philadelphia's most lauded and hardest to get into restaurants.

Its owners and operators, Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook, have garnered numerous accolades and even James Beard Awards (AKA the Oscars of the culinary world).

Now, those looking to try the high-end Israeli cuisine destination can get in a bit easier.

Zahav has opened a walk-in only, 56-seat covered patio, offering à la carte dining and drinks.

The à la carte Patio menu features hummus bowls with house-baked pita; salatim including the twice-cooked eggplant and new broccolini with caramelized onions; and mezze like watermelon and feta and Moroccan cigars with Izak honey and raw tehina.

Drinks include cocktails such as the Lemonnana (Israeli mint lemonade) now offered three different ways (with bourbon, arak, or as a Spritz); the frozen Desert Bird (a twist on a frozen daiquiri); and the zero proof, house-made Coconut Lime Soda.

The drink program also features wine-by-the-glass and all-Pennsylvania beer.

Diners who walk in can add their name to the waitlist and get texts when their tables are ready.

The Patio is accessible from the main entrance of Zahav by walking up the path to the right and around the corner until you are greeted by the Zahav team.

It is also accessible via 3rd St on the walking path labeled St. James Pl between Spruce and Walnut streets.

The new patio is open from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Parking is available along the left-hand side of the Society Hill Towers circle parking lot at 220 Locust St.

Once parked in a marked spot, use the QR code on the Zahav sign to pay via the Flowbird app. Access the Patio by following the diagonal path to the back courtyard of the restaurant.
