1 Critically Injured After Crash In Upper Providence

Investigators are asking for any witnesses to come forth following the incident, which involved a motorcycle and a minivan.

UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — A motorcyclist was critically injured following a crash on Black Rock Road in Upper Providence on Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident occurred on June at around 2:20 p.m. just east of Olympic Road.

The motorcycle rider, identified only a 22-year-old man from Limerick, was headed east on Black Rock Road when he lost control on the curve near Olympic, according to police.

He then swung into the westbound lane and crashed into a minivan.

Emergency responders provided immediate care on the scene, and then transported the motorcycle rider to a nearby trauma center.

"The rider's injuries are severe, and he remains under intensive care," Upper Providence Police said in an update Wednesday.

The driver of the minivan suffered minor injuries, and was treated at the scene of the crash. The driver has cooperated fully with the investigation, police said.

The Western Montgomery County Regional Crash Team is investigating the crash, which was responded to by police from Upper Providence, Lower Providence, and Phoenixville.

Upper Providence Fire, Friendship Ambulance, and Lower Providence Ambulance also assisted on the scene.
