17 Miles Of State Highway To Be Repaired Near Phoenixville

More traffic?

Construction began on June 21 to repair and resurface 17 miles of state highway throughout Chester County, including several roads near Phoenixville, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The $5.5 million project will improve conditions on five state highways by replacing old pavement with a new and smoother asphalt surface.

All resurfacing work will be completed by October, officials said.

The roads scheduled for construction include:

  • Charlestown Road between Route 29 and Route 23 (Nutt Road) in Phoenixville Borough, Schuylkill and Charlestown townships
  • Cold Stream Road between Route 113 (Kimberton Road) and Charlestown Road in East Pikeland and Charlestown townships
  • Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) between Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) and Shoen Road in West Whiteland Township
  • Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) between Route 82 (Strode Avenue) and Route 82 (1st Avenue) in the City of Coatesville
  • Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) between Route 82 (1st Avenue) and Caln Road in the City of Coatesville and Caln Township

Motorists are asked to allow extra time when traveling through work zones.
