31-Pound 'River Monster' Hauled From Schuylkill River

A 31-pound flathead catfish was caught in the Schuylkill River between Valley Forge and Phoenixville late Thursday night.

The ”river monster” was hauled in by Media resident Ryan Romanski.

While this is a much larger than average flathead, huge catfish are routinely pulled from various locations along the Schuylkill River.

Flathead catfish are not native to the Schuylkill River and are considered an invasive species by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
