5 Individuals Taken Into Detention By ICE In Phoenixville, Advocacy Group Says

A flurry of ICE activity was reported around Phoenixville Thursday morning.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — At least five people have been taken into detention by ICE agents in Phoenixville Thursday morning, according to Project Libertad, an immigrant advocacy group that tracks enforcement activity.

The detentions were announced after a flurry of activity spotted around the borough Thursday.

Agents were seen at the intersection of Starr and Washington streets as early as 7 a.m., and then again at the Acme and Wawa at around 8 a.m.

Authorities have not identified the arrested individuals, nor formally announced the arrests. Patch has reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for more information.

Project Libertad added that three individuals had been taken into detention by ICE in Norristown on Wednesday.

The group said they are working to assist families of the detained individuals with food and resources.
