5 Vehicles Involved In Massive Crash On Route 422

The crash left vehicles scattered in the woods and on the center median.

At least five vehicles were involved in a massive crash on the westbound Route 422 ramp from Upper Providence on Tuesday night.

The crash left at least one truck in the woods directly off the ramp, and another car in the center median of Route 422.

Three more cars were pulled over on the shoulder in the wake of the accident.

Crews were initially called to the scene at about 9:15 p.m. From the parking lots of the Lower Providence Town Center adjacent to Route 422’s westbound lanes near the crash, several emergency vehicles and personnel could be witnessed working the scene.

The westbound on-ramp remained closed in the early hours Wednesday.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.

No injuries had been reported as of 11:50 p.m. Tuesday.
