700 Stopped, 2 Arrested In Phoenixville DUI Checkpoint

The recent DUI checkpoint on Nutt Road stopped 700 drivers, police said.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — More than 700 motorists were stopped at a recent DUI checkpoint in Phoenixville, with two eventually arrested, police said.

The checkpoint was set up on 700 Nutt Road on Aug. 16. It started at around 10 p.m.

The Chester County DUI Task Force and Phoenixville police officers sent 18 of that group of 700 drivers to "secondary testing."

Of those 18, one was charged with DUI for drug impairment, and one was charged with DUI for alcohol impairment.

"The Phoenixville Police Department would like to thank all the motorists who travelled through the checkpoint for their patience and understanding and sharing the common goal of making our highways safer for everyone," the department said in a statement.
