A Flute Duet, a Xylophone Feature and Spring Music Highlight Ursinus College Concerts April 11 and 12
It will be a music-filled weekend on the campus of Ursinus College as two ensembles present spring concerts.
On Friday, April 11, the Wind Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center’s Lenfest Theater. Conducted by Holly Hubbs, Associate Professor of Music, the ensemble will present a program that includes a flute duet with band, performed by senior Rachel Polinski and junior Emily Black, and a mallet feature showcasing the xylophone talents of first-year student Kelly Johnson.
On Saturday, April 12, the String Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Bomberger Auditorium. Conducted by Garrett Hope, Visiting Assistant Professor of Music, the ensemble will perform masterworks by Copland, Mussorgsky, Mozart, Lauridsen, and others. This concert will celebrate the arrival of spring with joyful and energetic music, and also feature music appropriate for the contemplation of the Easter holiday season.
