The hearing for comedian Bill Cosby has been postponed after his attorneys asked for the delay, according to multiple reports.

Cosby’s hearing had been set for January 14. Defense lawyers have asked for more time to prepare their arguments, 6 ABC reports.

Cosby, 78, is presently free on $1 million bail, according to Penn Live.

Los Angeles County prosecutors have also reportedly rejected the idea of bringing charges against Cosby. Some of the 40-odd women who have accused Cosby of varying degrees of sexual assault claim the incidents occurred in Los Angeles.

Cosby is presently being charged in relation to a 2005 incident with a Temple University employee, where he allegedly drugged her before sexually assaulting her.
