Blaze Rages At Phoenixville Townhouse, Firefighter Injured

A fire late Sunday night left significant property damage and injuries to one firefighter.

A fire raged at a Phoenixville townhouse at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night, leaving significant damage and one firefighter injured, according to the Phoenixville Fire Department.

Fire units were alerted at 10:34 of an oven fire near 19000 Eland Downe, and they responded to the scene within minutes, officials said.

All Phoenixville Taskforce Companies - Kimberton, Valley Forge, and Black Rock - joined Phoenixville at the scene, according to officials.

Heavy fire was coming from the middle of a row of townhomes, officials said.

Neighbors said that an individual might be trapped inside but all firemen could not find anyone, according to the fire department’s statement.

The resident of the home was eventually located and it was confirmed that no one else was inside, officials said.

It took about an hour for the fire to be put out, leaving two units with fire damage and one with smoke damage.

One firefighter was injured during the course of the blaze and was taken to Phoenixville Hospital for evaluation, where he was later released, officials said.
