The tents have been packed up, the streets cleared and the sea of walkers in Philadelphia dressed in PINK have left! Thank you to all the communities, volunteers and many others who shared the experience and supported the Philadelpia 3-Day Walk this past weekend. It was an amazing experience and the people of Philadelphia were nothing short of wonderful to all the 1700 + walkers!
It is always amazing to me to see how many business owners, schools, neighbors and local communitiy members come out to support us walkers. Not only do they come out to cheer us on--they hand out water, candy, medical supplies and much more all along the route. Many even dress up in pink, bras everywhere and make signs to show their support.
Some noteable favorites were the streets of Chestnut Hill, The Beer and Bathroom stop in South Philly 5 miles from the finish line (a guy opened his home to us), the many schools that had their kids doing cheers and made signs, the Art Musuem, and last but not least--the food stops at Pat's, Gino's and Chickie & Petes on Day 3! The route was great and allowed us to tour Philly in a way that most people don't get to--including the 8 or 9 college campus tours we got and all the neighborhoods of Philly. I have a large list of "places to visit again".

I have included some pictures from my experience and only hope that my experience will create awareness for others to cure this terrible disease. I am proud to say that my team raised over $10,000 towards finding a cure!
