Irish Halloween Traditions: Where It All Began

Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation, “Irish Halloween Traditions: Where It All Began”, on Monday, October 12, 6:30 PM, at the Library. Most of the Halloween traditions we’ve been enjoying for many years originated in ancient Ireland celebrating the festival of Samhain. Local Historian Ryan Conroy will share stories about how carving pumpkins, trick-or-treating and much more came from old practices and were adapted for our own use in common Halloween fun. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required at https://ccls.libcal.com/calendar/Phoenixville/irish-halloween or by calling 610-933-3013 x132. Email mpinto@ccls.org for more information. Phoenixville Public Library is located at 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
