Overbearing mother Piper Laurie and bullied teen Sissy Spacek were Oscar nominees for their turns in this 1976 adaptation of the Stephen King book. Amy Irving, John Travolta, and William Katt are the tormentors who incur their classmate's wrath. One of director Brian DePalma's most effective fright flicks. Period. Rated R. 98 min.

A 1988 gift from John Cardos and MST3K favorite, Cannon Films. If you missed Gor, don't worry. You won't be at a loss trying to understand Gor II, as this film is also known. In fact, you're actually better off by about 90 minutes. The film's rating suggests it is questionable for children, but ultimately it is questionable for humanity. Perfect for robot puppets, though, who know exactly what to make of it. Rated PG-13. 89 min. Dynamic DVD transmission.

Jaws -- Cult Classics

Saturday, June 25, 2016 @ 4:30PM

Okay, calling this 1975 blockbuster a cult film is a stretch, but it's definitely a classic! Director Stephen Spielberg and composer John Williams joined forces to scare the swimsuits off of, oh, everyone. Today, 41 years on, Jaws still makes audiences scream, laugh, and cheer. What better way to welcome summer? Rated PG. 124 min. Delicious
