Changes on Tap At Stepping Stone Education Center

Following is a press release from Stepping Stone Education Center announcing the appointments of a new Director of Education and Operations Coordinator.

Stepping Stone Education Center first opened its doors as an after school program in the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville in 1985.  It has since blossomed into a fulltime preschool, offering Kindergarten enrichment and summer camp programs located in the Franklin Commons of Phoenixville. 

Stepping Stone Education Center has gone through some recent changes and the Board of Directors would like to introduce to the community the new Director of Education, Melissa Shanaman and the new Operations Coordinator, Chris Cobb.  Both bring many years of experience with them; Melissa with 4 years as a teacher here at Stepping Stone with her CDA and AAS in Early Childhood Education and Chris with a strong business background, and an MBA.

For those interested in touring the Stepping Stone Education Center’s facilities, an open house will be held on Monday, April 23, from 6:30-7:30 pm.  The address is 400 Franklin Avenue, with the center’s entrance from the Grant Street parking lot.  The open house will give an opportunity for a “meet and greet” with the teachers and board members, provide information on summer camp and school year curriculum, offering arts and crafts, games, and refreshments. 

On Saturday, April 28, Stepping Stone Education Center will be holding its 3^rd annual Family Fun Run.  Other fundraisers include restaurant nights, flower sales, a flea market, a Family Fun Fair and a Touch-A-Truck event to name a few.
