Charges have been filed against a Phoenixville High School sophomore after he threatened he had a bomb in his backpack.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Charges have been filed against a Phoenixville High School student after he threatened he had a bomb in his backpack, leading to a school-wide evacuation and teams of police and dogs to search the premises.
The student, a sophomore, will face charges of terroristic threats, among other charges. He is under 18.
The bomb scare was first reported after a teacher overheard the boy drop his backpack on the ground and say there was a bomb inside.

The entire school was evacuated onto Washington Field in the stadium while police arrived, took the boy into custody, and swept through the building.
In less than two hours, the school had been declared safe and classes resumed as usual.

The middle school was not affected by the threats and did not evacuate.
