After her husband reported health and safety hazards at the local salon, the stylist was fired.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A hair stylist at a Chester County salon has been awarded a $40,000 settlement after being fired when her husband reported health and safety hazards.
Kennett Square's Blown Away Dry Bar and Salon is also prohibited from telling the stylist's future employers any information about the case. They must also prominently display a "Job Safety and Health, It's the Law" poster for 60 days inside the business, the U.S. Department of Labor ruled.
“Employees have the right to report workplace safety or health hazards without fear of retaliation from their employer,” the Department of Labor's Philadelphia Regional Administrator, Richard Mendelson, said in a statement. “This settlement goes a long way in making this employee whole after she was fired for engaging in an activity that is protected by law.”
