Chesco Teacher Named Semifinalist For National Music Award
A Chester County teacher has been named a semifinalist for the Music and Arts 2017 Music Educator of the Year award.
WEST CHESTER, PA — A West Chester Area School District teacher has been named a semi-finalist for a prestigious national award.
Katrina Kelly, of Exton, has made it to the penultimate round for the Music and Arts 2017 Music Educator of the Year award.
Kelly has been teaching for 19 years.

The nomination for Kelly included the following note:
"Mrs. Kelly deserves this award because she has a great relationship with her students. She pushes me to become a better musician and helps me when I make mistakes. She makes long rehearsals more enjoyable by making us laugh and have fun playing our instruments. I think Mrs. Kelly is an awesome music teacher and I have a great relationship with her."

The program aims to "promote excellent teachers" by providing recognition to outstanding music educators.
Winners will be announced on Dec. 21 at the Music and Arts Annual Midwest Reception in Chicago.
