Chester County Town Tour Explores Phoenixville's Origins

Phoenixville, PA -- The Schuylkill River Heritage Center is sponsoring a Chester County Town Tour on Thursday evening, June 30, they announced on their Facebook page.

The event, "From Nails to Rails and Cannons to Columns," will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Phoenixville Foundry.

This tour is part of the 300 year celebration of iron and steel making in Chester County, organizers said.

The tour will share the story and images of the former Phoenix Iron and Steel company and its important role in the county's history.

The Foundry is located on 2 North Main Street in Phoenixville.
