A 72-year-old Chester County woman was attacked during a home invasion, bound, beaten, and left in a closet for four days, police said.

A 72-year-old Chester County woman was bound, beaten, and left in a closet for four days after a brutal home invasion, police said.

The incident occurred on the 100 block of Creek Road in East Brandywine Township on Wednesday, Feb 22., according to authorities.

The woman told police she was getting out of her car when she was suddenly grabbed from behind and hit in the head. The suspect was a man dressed in all black, police said.

The suspect then beat the woman, bound her, and put her in the closet, where she was not discovered for four days, on Feb. 26, authorities said.

The only reason she was found is because her daughter-in-law came to check on her.

An investigation is underway. Authorities have a lead on the vheicle - a 2013 silver Fiat 500 with Pennsylvania license plate JTJ0600.
