'Clear the Shelters' Event Saturday In Chester County

The Brandywine Valley SPCA, formerly known as the Chester County SPCA, will participate in a "Clear the Shelters" event this weekend.

As part of the special event, adoption fees will be waived at participating shelters around the nation.

Nearly 20,000 pets found their forever homes in 2015, when around 400 animal shelters participated in the NBC-sponsored event.

The following shelters are participating in the region:

• Brandywine Valley SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester
• Pals P217, Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore
• Montgomery County SPCA - Conshohocken/Abington, 19 East Ridge Pike, Conshohocken
• Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals, 328 Upper Gulph Road, Radnor
• PALS Pets -Chesco Cat Rescue, 127 West Lancaster Avenue, Wayne
