Collegeville Man, Hairstylist and Business Owner for 55 Years, Dies at 75

Anthony L. “Chubs” Greco, Jr., 75, husband of Sandra J. (Edelman) Greco, 6th Ave., Collegeville, died Saturday, January 28, 2017, at home due to pancreatic cancer. Anthony was born on July 1, 1941, in Norristown, and was a son of the late Anthony L. and Josephine (Flore) Greco.

He was a 1959 graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School. Anthony loved sports, playing varsity football, basketball and baseball in high school. Into adulthood he enjoyed playing golf, and was a loyal Eagles season ticket holder since 1961. Anthony also loved to spend time in Sea Isle City, NJ at his shore house, sitting on his deck looking out on the ocean or watching his grandkids build sandcastles.

Before illness forced his retirement in October 2015, Anthony owned and operated Monique Beauty Salon, in Collegeville. He was a hairstylist for 55 years with hundreds of satisfied customers. Anthony was a member of St. Eleanor Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by his children, Anthony, husband of Tricia (Cirafesi) Greco, Worcester Twp., and Lauren, wife of Michael Spera, Lower Merion Twp.; his grandchildren, Anthony and Emilia Greco; and his siblings, Laura, wife of Joseph Haack, Naples, FL, and Robert, husband of Jacqueline Greco, Lincoln. NE.

Anthony’s funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 4th, at St. Eleanor Catholic Church, 647 Locust St., Collegeville. Entombment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, E. Norriton Twp. Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:45 AM, Saturday, at church.
