Community Cross Walk

Area Christians mark the start of Holy Week 2017 with an outdoor Cross Walk.

A nice group of people gathered on Palm Sunday, April 9th at 3 p.m. for a Cross Walk hosted by the Phoenixville Area Clergy Association (PACA). The event commemorated the Stations of the Cross, 14 reflections on the events leading to Jesus' crucifixion. Holy Week began with Palm Sunday services at area churches. The Cross Walk was a fitting way to continue the week's special observances in preparation for the Easter celebration of Jesus' resurrection. The first station was at Grace Crossing Community Church, 248 Church St. Alternating cross-bearers led the way across the Gay Street Bridge stopping at various points to reflect on one of the 14 stations with a scripture reading, prayer and song. It was a solemn, yet uplifting experience highlighted by the beautiful spring-time weather. Click here to read the program booklet and conduct a self-guided way of the cross.
