Community Raises $50K For Oaks Father With Brain Aneurysm

OAKS, PA — Oaks resident Sabya Udgata was on vacation in California earlier this month when the unthinkable happened: he developed a brain aneurysm.

Sabya was with his family and friends when the incident occurred. He was rushed to a hospital in Sacramento, where doctors were able to relieve the pressure on his brain and bring him to a stable condition. He was then transferred to the University of California-San Francisco Hospital where he underwent brain surgery on Feb. 20.

When the larger community caught word of what had happened, they stepped up in a big way.

"Sabya is a long-term colleague, friend and brother to many of us. Many people have asked how they can help support Sabya and his family. We ask your support and contribution today to help defray travel expenses for those commuting between east and west coasts to support the family and to offset what will surely be sizable medical bills during his recovery."

"Sabya invests deeply in his family, his work and in mentoring and supporting the young talent around him. He has given much. Its time for us to give back. Please join us in offering a generous donation to give the family one less thing to worry about as Sabya embarks on his road to recovery!"

Sabya, who has a wife and child, will be in the hospital for the next several weeks as he recovers before can come back home to Oaks, friends said.
