Watch Live Stream: Town Hall To Be Held In Phoenixville; Rep. Costello Declines Invite

The Concerned Citizens of District 6 are holding a town hall meeting in Phoenixville, and U.S. Rep. Ryan Costello has declined the invite.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- A political action group is hosting a town hall meeting at Phoenixville High School to address issues facing Pennsylvania's 6th Congressional District.

The group, the Concerned Citizens of District 6, said that they hoped to discuss a variety of hot political issues, including the Affordable Care Act, protection of the environment, education and public school support, immigration, sanctuary cities, and governmental ethics. The meeting will be held this Saturday, Feb. 25.

The group invited U.S. Rep. Ryan Costello (R), who represents the district, but he declined the visit, and reportedly called it a "political stunt."

Costello said that he goes out of his way to be accessible to constituents, and he published statistics regarding his "constituent engagement" to social media, citing the number of times he has met with citizens and participated in community events thus far in 2017.

The Concerned Citizens group said that the town hall will take place with or without Costello. They do not agree that their Congressman is accessible, retweeting a comment that Costello "refuses" to hold town hall meetings.

Costello hosted a live telephone town hall from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Constituents were able to register to be joined into the call and ask questions.

The event will be held in the auditorium this Saturday, Feb. 25, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. It will also be broadcast live on the group's Twitter feed here.
