Concerns Arise Over Phoenixville's Nutt Road Intersection

Residents don't think its safe.

Heading into Phoenixville north on Route 113 has always been difficult. Rush hour traffic can back up the line of vehicles for twenty minutes or longer.

But recently, residents have raised concerns about traffic conditions at the intersection of Nutt Road and West Bridge Street, saying that jams are even worse than usual, and that the area dangerous for those unfamiliar with the borough.

Residents say that the left-hand turn from 23 onto Bridge Street often cannot be made until the light turns red, meaning that multiple drivers, frustrated by the long wait, wind up running the red light.

Some have proposed a roundabout be installed as a solution, but there are doubts as to whether there is enough room to install one.

Phoenixville owns and maintains the signal and intersection, according to PennDOT.
