Concordia Choral Arts, a Chester County area non-profit choral arts organization, is taking applications for the 2019 RISING ARTIST VOCAL SCHOLARSHIP for area youth, ages 8-13, now through September 15th. This scholarship fosters music education and appreciation for community youth. Contact us at info@concordiachoralarts.org or visit Concordia Choral Arts' website at www.concordiachoralarts.org. The 2019 scholarship recipient will receive a cash prize and have the opportunity to perform at Concordia's annual Rise Up and Sing! concert in recognition of the United Nations International Day of Peace on Sunday, October 6th at 3 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 355 St. John's Circle, Phoenixville.

RISE UP and SING! is Concordia's second annual community concert honoring the United Nations Peace Charter that encourages individuals, schools, and communities to take time each year to promote peace in creative and inclusive ways! Music is an outstanding way to promote peace beginning with self care and wellness. Music also helps build positive relationships with others, makes us better listeners, and can foster strong and peaceful communities. We invite you to join us on Oct. 6th for this free concert that brings together our area youth, choirs, musicians, storytellers and artists in a musical celebration of peace. If you or your choir would like to sing with us, please contact our artistic director at info@concordiachoralarts.org.
