Police found a dead woman tied to a cinder block in a pond in East Coventry Township on Memorial Day, the Chester County District Attorney's Office has announced.
"Sadly, somebody threw this woman away like a piece of trash," DA Tom Hogan said Tuesday. The woman has since been identified as a teacher from Montgomery County.
The woman was discovered by a citizen on Monday, May 30 at about 11:15 a.m. in the pond connected to Pigeon Creek off of Zeiber Road, the DA said.

She had several pieces of jewelry on, including ringers with designs of a horse and an anchor. She also had a tattoo on her left shoulder.
It's unclear what caused the woman's death, officials said. There were no signs of gunshot wounds, blunt force trauma, or strangulation, and she was already dead when she was put in the water, the DA said, so she did not drown.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Chester County Detective Sergeant Tom Goggin at 610-344-6866.
