Dinniman Honors Kimberton Fair Queen

State Senator Andy Dinniman recently honored Sarah Hammaker, a senior at Phoenixville High School, on being crowned the 2011 Kimberton Fair Queen.

Dinniman introduced Hammaker to the Senate body in honor of being crowned the 2011 Kimberton Fair Queen and provided a tour of the Capitol building.

Hammaker, of East Pikeland Township, won the Kimberton Fair Queen title in July, enabling her to qualify for a state contest vying for a $2,000 scholarship. In January she will compete against roughly 58 contestants from throughout the Commonwealth during the annual joint convention of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs and the Pennsylvania State Showmen’s Association.

Hammaker will compete for the state title during a three-day competition where she will be evaluated on her public speaking skills, knowledge of the agricultural industry and poise and personal presentation.

As part of her duties as queen, Hammaker represents Chester County’s rich agricultural heritage through community activities and serving as an ambassador for the Kimberton Fair. The Kimberton Fair Queen has come to appreciate the hard work put forth by our agricultural community.

Hammaker plans to attend college. She is the daughter of Mark and Cindy Hammaker and has three brothers.
