Do You Think Phoenixville Should Do Away With Its Recreation Board?

Phoenixville’s Recreation Board may soon be a thing of the past.

Phoenixville’s Borough Council, meeting earlier this month, voted 7 to 1 to repeal from the borough ordinances the Recreation Board, The Times Herald reported.

The elimination isn’t definite, The Times Herald said, and the Recreation Board will continue to meet in November and December. A new ordinance to officially disband the board will have to be drawn up and voted on, The Times Herald said.

Some members of the Council felt that the Recreation Board was handling matters that should have been dealt with by the borough’s director of Parks and Recreation, The Times Herald said.
