The Drafting Room, 'Chester County's Craft Beer Bar,' Shuts Down

The Drafting Room, known as "Chester County's Original Craft Beer Bar," shut its doors on Monday.

UWCHLAN, PA — The Drafting Room, known as "Chester County's Original Craft Beer Bar," shut its doors on Monday.

The beloved watering hole and eatery has been in operation since 1994.

"After 23 wonderful years in business, we have made the difficult decision that it is time for us to move on to other endeavors in our lives," the owners, the Weintraub family, wrote in a letter to customers. "As of Monday November 13th, we will be closing The Drafting Room. We would like to thank everyone who has come through our doors and become long time friends and guests. We would like to thank all of our staff throughout the 23 years who have helped make The Drafting Room a wonderful and proud place to work."

The Drafting Room prided itself on the number of beers it had on tap, plus a selection of more than 100 bottles. They were also known for their Sunday brunch and various beer-centric events.

Customers who were at The Drafting Room over the weekend said there was no sign the business was closing.

The letter above was posted on both their website and their front door. Beyond the letter, no more specific reason for the closing was provided.

The Drafting Room was located on 635 Pottstown Pike in Exton.
