Driver Was Drunk In Crash That Killed Chesco Mother
A young Chester County mother was killed in a crash with a drunk driver, who now faces charges of homicide by vehicle.

UWCHLAN, PA -- A young Chester County mother was killed in a crash with a drunk driver, who now faces charges of homicide by vehicle.
The incident occurred on Nov. 17 at around 11:05 p.m. near the intersection of Worthington Road and Caernarvon Drive.
Shannon Lafferty, along with her boyfriend Saheem Davis and their young daughter, were returning from a Christmas tree lighting celebration when they were struck by another vehicle.

Police said an investigation revealed that Patricia Lynn Davies, the driver of that car, was drunk at the time of the accident.
Davis and the young girl were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Lafferty, however, did not survive.

A months-long investigation concluded this week with the arrest of Davies, who now faces 13 charges, including homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, reckless endangerment, and more. She was arrested on Tuesday afternoon.
"The world has lost a beautiful, magnificent soul," Jamie Leah, who started a GoFundMe on behalf of the family, wrote. "Those closest to Shannon have lost their heart. Shannon was a shining light; she defined love and devotion."

Davies posted ten percent of $25,000 bail and was released. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
