East Pikeland Township To Hold Historic Walking Tour

The free walking tour will take place August 18.

The Middle Pickering National Register Historic District along Pickering Creek is featured as the annual historic walking tour site in East Pikeland Township on August 18. This Free Walking Tour is part of the 22nd Annual Chester County Town Tours & Village Walks.

The Middle Pickering District is home to buildings and people who define the
transformation of early industry in Chester County to the towering urban
achievements of mid-20th century Philadelphia.

The village of Merlin was an important crossroads for industry and agriculture in the 18th and 19th centuries. 50 years later, Oscar Stonorov architect, and Ed Bacon planner, made their homes in this area, bringing progressive modernism.
