A flood advisory has been issued for Chester County ahead of possible heavy rain and thunderstorms Thursday evening.
Steady rain began falling in the suburbs at around 5:30. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to increase in intensity through around 6:30 p.m.
The storm could taper off, but rain and scattered thunderstorms are possible throughout the evening until 2 a.m. Friday.

The warning also extended to Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania, in addition to several counties in New Jersey.
The National Weather Service said that the storm could lead to hazardous driving conditions for the evening commute.
