A Functioning Hobbit House Has Been Built In Chester County

Just precious.

WEST CHESTER, PA -- A functioning Hobbit house modeled on J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings fantasy novels has been built in Chester County.

The Pennsylvania architect Peter Archer designed the 600 square foot home that has been built into the side of an existing brick wall. The wall dates to the 18th Century, according to a profile published in Houzz.

A small garden path leads up to the rear, while the front includes the iconic oval door pictured in the films and described in the novels. While the house appears to be partly underground and very small from the outside, the interior is designed for a human. Vaulted wood ceilings, space for a library, and numerous chandeliers highlight the abode.
